Beloved island music teacher Donna Briesemeister had a previous career that many are unaware of: she was a shepherd on Washington Island while she was raising her family here. Her recently revised book includes striking artwork that was produced by her brother, and reads easily in short essays each focusing on an animal or an event during her time tending her flock.
