The initial design and concept for this collection was developed by up and coming jewellery designer, Sophie Howard, currently studying at Sheffield Hallam University. Sophie was inspired by Peruvian and Ecuadorian mythology to create these pieces, which are made collaboratively by artisans in Peru and Ecuador. Lizet in Peru took Sophie’s initial designs, experimented with scale and added texture to the brass, using techniques learnt in workshops carried out by Just Trade. Magdalena in Ecuador refined the ideas for the tagua components, which she carves and polishes before sending them to Lizet for final assembly and packaging.
